[OC] The Amount of Milk Produced Daily by U.S. Cows By Year

The main reason the yields are increasing is because of consolidation. A lot of small dairy farms go out of business every year. Small dairy farms make significantly less milk per cow than large dairy farms. Large dairy farms don't necessarily increase their yield per cow every year but they make up a larger percentage of the milk production every year as small dairy farms go out of business. Basically, the farms that have the higher producing cows make up a larger percentage of the total milk production every year as this consolidation process continues year after year.
