And just for the record I do agree with most of what OP is saying. People who assume Gundam is all about robots crashing into each other are dumb and it’s this mindset that made Zeta drag so much in the middle because every episode was required to have a big mech battle. Gundam has always been characters first, I just dislike how it implies, intentionally or not that the only reason certain audiences watch this series is because “gay spotted neutrons activated”. I honestly couldn’t give much a shit about the mech battles and I watch Gundam BECAUSE of the characters as that requires me to focus on what’s going on instead of my brain turning off when it’s just constant fight after fight after fight
