Kesha wins a legal battle over her producer, Dr. Luke, who she says sexually assaulted her

No. Prince left his contract and just ditched his name.

Her contract is a bit more intense.

I have some fun input on both these stories.

Kesha is in a contract with her Producer boyfriend, when they were in love it was all good then she realized how shady he is. I worked with him and some of his friends, the guys is super shady. The contract is extremely unreasonable, but she has to prove it was signed under duress in order to have it invalidated. That is why she is pushing the sexual assault angle, my wife and I talked about this idea and her legal case has been locked up because she has been saying he raped her, but rape is hard to prove. However, any relationship between a man and a woman can easily argue that there was some for of sexual violence or abuse that would lead to said duress. Don't worry, boys, this only works because of their contract, it wouldn't hold up in family court or anywhere else.

Now Prince was a completely different type of situation, he was signed to an old school label and they would only let him release a certain type of music. He wanted to do more groovy, jam music instead of the pop centric that was pushing albums at the time. So, Prince made a deal with Guitar magazine, I think, to release a small press of an album called "Undertaker" that he had been practicing. He tried to sneak it through a very small plant in the midwest, that my friends dad was the quality control manager of, he has since passed away. But he said that he had three copies in his office, and was trying to figure out who the artist was for the label. It had a wierd logo, which later became Princes logo like melting clocks on it, and he was sure it sounded like Prince. So, he writes the label and the next morning he shows up to work to a bonfire of all the CDs and THE MASTERS. They said it was a major break in his contract, Prince got pissed because they screwed over his deal and his art, walking out on the contract. They said they owned him and and his music, he told them to go fuck themselves and he would make new music and a new name. Which he already had.

On a side note, I have one of the only copies of the album in existence. I've never put it on the Internet or let anyone copy it, it is the most inspiring piece of music I have ever listened to and it feels like Prince wrote an album that cost him his entire career so I could be inspired by it.

I've impacted the world a few way facelessly, and still do. It has always been the Undertaker album that pushes me to be more at all costs no matter the risk.
