Kid from my school makes some high quality movie reviews. Here's his one on Guardians of the Galaxy

I really don't understand why critics are giving this movie such a rough time?

If you can't figure out how other people might come to different conclusions than you maybe then don't concern yourself with their opinion. I'd suggest maybe actually reading their words and actually put effort into trying to understand where they're coming from but obviously you didn't do that.

Some critics aren't fanboying hard over the film? That's unfathomable! It can't possibly have to do with the fact that the movie basically has no plot.

That the characters are cartoonishly hyper exaggerated versions of themselves from the 1st and poorly over-acted the whole movie.

That the violence is Looney Tunes level of violence with no weight behind any of it.

That Gamora actually regressed as a character and went from badass warrior to simply a love interest for Quill.

That the editing in places is disjointed. That some scenes seemed to go nowhere and others, like baby groot getting the prototype fin, dragged on too long.

That Ego dropping the tumor-mom-bomb on Quill made absolutely no sense, he had no reason to toss that wrench into the gears when he was basically home free in convincing Quill to join his side.

Oh, and speaking of convincing him to abandon his family to join Ego? That seemed to happen really easy. So easy that when Drax did his best Vin Diesel impression and said "we're family" I laughed because nothing about these guys made me buy that bs. Since the whole movie they spent so much effort to get away from one another.

That any time the movie tried to inject some drama or emotion it wasn't even 5 seconds before some out of place forced humor killed it dead in its tracks. The goofiest "emotional" scene being the Quill and Ego playing catch scene. I couldn't believe that that was what I was seeing, like "yep, this is actually happening."

I could continue but I really don't need to or want to as I'm doing this on mobile and have typed long enough. Point being maybe actually put some effort into understanding why other people see something different than you before immediately claiming "I just don't understand why they don't like this!". Because this movie has a shitload of problems that not everybody decided to overlook.
