I understand that prejudice and stereotyping will always exist but shouldn't we make an effort to make it better instead of just complaining, waiting for others to change?

Prejudice and stereotyping is a different game in Asia. To Chinese and Koreans, for example, those things don't exist (and neither does racism). Those things are Western inventions.

So, when a Korean looks at a black or brown person and considers them dirty, poor, disease-carrying Africans (because they don't understand that black people can come from America and Europe) and moves far away from you in public, they have no notion of this being racist or prejudice.

When you hear a Korean say in their native tongue (I can get by a little speaking Korean), "Oh, that's a foreigner, they're scary" then "Oh, I heard they're very stupid and smell bad" they have no concept of that being wrong.

Asians of all ethnicities and countries are often terrible to each other, but when your price-gouged for being white, or refused service because you're white, "Sorry, we don't serve foreigners" often, then it starts to crawl under your skin.

So, you're talking to me about prejudice as if not everyone in Korea can possibly be like that and then you make it sound like they - like Wetern countries - actively try to shed such reputations. I'm telling you right now - they don't.

And that's the thing. These videos are just continuations of this. Korean people are known to be very arrogant while at the same time having a victim mentality that the world owes them due to the Korean war. They're absolutely terrible to the Japanese. They're terrible to a lot of Western visitors as well.

It's a snobbish, nose-in-the-air, ethnocentricism that you simply won't find in the West in most places.

And this SAT video is the latest incarnation, "Oh, I heart they're very bad at math" and so on.

That's the problem. A Korean, if you're on the subway, will immediately look at you and think, "There's a dumb, stinky foreigner".

They're just assholes. And these videos are just another way for them to be assholes to everybody else on the Internet.
