The economy is way more than just GDP (PPP). This summer, a lot of people will be jobless and have no tourists. They will feel the burn of less tourists. This will cause social unrest.
In 2014 Travel & Tourism directly supported 580,000 jobs (2.2% of total employment).
That's only 2.2% of total employment. There won't be a social unrest.
What about PKK operations inside Turkey this summer? I don't think they will let a chance go this summer.
It'll be similar to their HUGE SPRING OFFENSIVE they announced this year. Nothing will happen.
Also, PKK-Turkey was has just entered a new face. Now that the cities have been destroyed, PKK and TAK are resorting to Turkish cities. What's a better way to destroy economy than by terror? What company wants to invest when PKK is going to place a bomb?
TAK would need couple of hundred suicide bombers to pull that off. Also if Assad can stop car bombs in a failed country you bet Turkey would be able to do the same thing too. It all comes down to setting up bunch of checkpoints on roads.
