Not the lady in this unfortunate incident, but I was out with a girl I had crush on (which I found out had a huge crush on me after she moved a thousand miles away for medical school) one cold summer night. We joked and laughed and hit it off really well, and on our way home, we stopped where we were going to split to head different directions. She looked at me, and slowly tilted her head to the side. I took this as an "oh well, I guess a kiss on the cheek on the first night is alright". So in response I twisted my head slightly to the side and presented my cheek.
I got the kiss. She quickly and awkwardly said "bye", turned around and left. We started walking away from each other, and on my way I turned around to look at her one last time for the evening - she was walking with her face buried in her phone. Didn't think much of it, but I later found out that she was texting all her friends, telling them how brutally denied she just got.
