in 2018, 83% of all video games sold were digital. granted that's a overall total and includes computer games, where digital has become pretty much the only way to buy, but it's still a relevant statistic to consider even with the caveats. That number has also probably gone up since then (as it seems to every year).

As for the logistics, i don't know where most video game disks are manufactured, but lets be safe and assume Asia (probably China). Have any idea how easy it is to book ocean freight in China right now? And dry containers? Forget about it. The steamship lines are desperate for business. Inland trucking once it arrives? It's a sea of trucking companies looking for more work. The only part of the pipeline that's clogged is 'final mile' for home deliveries, and even that isn't all that terrible. But getting into distribution centers? Easy as pie.
