Left - Right. Why is something in between not an option?

That's largely not how politics work over here though, policies aren't really split into two blocs like it is in other countries. Even if we take the definitions that other countries use, left wing politics are fighting for progress, right wing politics fight for regression, and centrism advocates for stagnation and forcing changes to be made through reforms so slow that they probably won't help the people who need those reforms. Being able to consider ideas as they come sounds great and all, but it means nothing if you can't reject bad ideas snd instead make a vague gesture of compromise to show off how smart and open you are. Centrism is a performative shitshow by people who don't give a fuck about helping anyone and who prefer that everyone stay unhappy.
