LPT: As a lawyer, don't take legal advice from Reddit.

Lawyering in many jurisdictions is a protected profession meaning one cannot simply declare and/or proclaim themselves as lawyers without having obtained the relevant degree and gone through the requisite training.

Even when a lawyer qualified in one jurisdiction goes to another jurisdiction it entails a partial or full recertification.

For this reason lawyers can be held to account, and people who profess to be lawyers whilst not being qualified can be held to account.

Taking legal advice from Reddit is no better than asking your buddy who isn't a lawyer legal advice. If your buddy proclaims to be a lawyer and gives you wrong legal advice they can be held to account, whereas armchair attorneys on Reddit cannot.

When seeking advice ensure its from a quality legal firm, if the advice is bad the headache frustration as rectification can be a long winded and expensive process.
