Luke Thomas Show: Demetrious Johnson Has a Choice to Make About Popularity

DJ has never faced a champion or fighter in the p4p list with regard to skill, except for when he fought cruz and we know how that went.

I think he could shut a lot of doubters up if he took on a challenge for once.

The most hate DJ gets (if you look at social media) is because he ducked Tj in order to essentially "guarantee" his record breaking defense. I know there's no guarantees in this game, but Borg had nothing for DJ. I don't think borg even has what it takes to beat joe B or cejudo, let alone DJ. That was one of the most uncompetitive fights I've ever seen and thats one of the reasons it only did 100k buys.

A superfight with TJ to break the record would've been huge for DJ's career. It really felt like "right place, right time", but DJ did whatever he could to avoid it. I understand caring about legacy, but you can't start screaming in the mic for "million dollar paydays" if you're not willing to do what the million dollar fighters (e.g. Conor) are willing to do. You gotta take risk to get anything big in life, but DJ doesn't seem to care about that.
