I make the first move 90% of the time because it’s still the social norm for the man to initiate. However, a woman’s messaging me first never decreases my attraction for her.

If I thought / would have thought she was cute and interesting without her messaging me first, that impression is unaffected by her doing so. If anything, when a woman that I would tend to like sends the first message, it enhances my attraction to her because the inference is that her attraction to me is strong enough to overcome the general social norm for women not to initiate.

However, there’s still a strong correlation (not causation) between a woman messaging me first and my not being attracted to her, and that’s because the women who do so are often not the type I’d be interested in anyway.
