well personal anecdote but i once walked out of a club when 3 men were insulting my gf to me to try to piss me off. i just got her out of there so her feelings wouldn't be hurt because even though she was attractive, she was very insecure about appearance, if i had fought the 3 ripped guys that decided to try to ruin my night, i'd have gotten curb stomped.

i never told her what they said but she lectured me the next morning about being a pussy and "what if i had to defend her", because i lied that the men just wanted to fight me and didn't tell her the things they said about her. so yeah, this kind of thought isnt' as uncommon as you think among shitty people, my ex would have prefer i got obliterated and hospitalized than just walked away.

i could have thrown in her face what they said about her and that i spared her that to not hurt her feelings but i never did. on the contrary men had trashed talked me to her face "saying i could do better" and she giggled about it, didn't even try to spare me what they said or act like it's bad, that's women for you.
