Map of the Celtic Union with counties and provinces

I don’t see how you’d argue that the lowland Scots sent to genocide the Irish were also Celtic. You don’t send celts to murder celts. That’s weird. But I’d be happy to see any resources that differ from my understanding.

Again I’m fine with calling Northern Ireland Celtic. But then idk if you can still claim all of Scotland. Orkney as never been Celtic, the lowlands are barely Celtic but by that metric England has been Celtic too.

So yeah. Idk man. We can go in circles all day. But to me it’s a shitty map for people who care more about imagined nationalist rivalry and separation than they do actually respecting cultures and history.

Let’s also be super super clear. “Britain” as in the British people were not “the big bad” - it was the aristocracy. It always has been. It was the British aristocracy that caused these problems.

Divisions like this. Imagined cultural divisions. The exclusion of the common Englishman to separate them from the common Scot or Irish…..this is a tool used for thousands of years by those in power to hide in plain sight. To convince us we are different, so we never see the actual enemy, which is classism. Another reason this shit rubs me the wrong way.
