Mark Cuban gets fined $15,000 for saying fuck during a broadcast. Purposely doubles the fine by saying it again with all proceeds going to charity.

I blatantly said what I was doing, so It's not being a douchenozzle .

So, as you were handing them the envelope, you stated aloud, "I am not giving this donation for the good of the team, rather I am giving it because I want to buy goodwill within the community and further my personal goals"? Or do you mean admitting to it just now? Because that doesn't count.

  1. I don't want to go there,

I thought that was the whole point of your first comment????

I love when rich people use their wealth to have more freedom than the rest of us!... I sure love knowing people have more recourse because of their wealth!

I guess I just assumed you were referring to the fact that he committed a crime and got off with little consequence, which would tie into a morality argument. The only other reason you would have for being bitter about the situation is that he is being pretentious, which is a silly reason to deny people aid.

but if this were a crime he would also have more recourse to justice then the average person.

In an ideal world, the only recourse he would have is affording a better lawyer. This is not always the case, but again, you need to look at the situation at hand. It was a victimless infraction, and I'm sure pretty much anyone would probably get away with it, regardless of wealth. If you want to get angry about the rich skirting laws, fine. But it doesn't make a lot of sense in relation to this event

It's a classic rich person move.

Again, that alone does not negate the good deed or signify immorality.

You are too focused on the charity portion of this

True. Because I value action over inaction, no matter the motive.

and not how Cuban is using it.

That's because the worst motive you could possibly think of for this is "he wants to look good". Denying charity because you deem his motives to be petty is... frustratingly dumb.

He has you hook, line and sinker.

I don't think much about Mark Cuban. I'm not worried. Neither is he.
