Masks, Social Distancing Will Likely Be Needed Until Late 2021, Fauci Says During Virtual Event In Md.

This is honestly what’s so bad about the Trump Administration’s handling of Covid, possibly even more than their anti-masking nonsense (because, honestly, >95% of people are probably forced to wear masks in the places that matter even if they aren’t happy about it)

The administration shows no signs of making long term plans.

They’re just saying “time to open up and learn to live with it” without a real methodology.

There is absolutely no way that a full year of the current situation is economically sustainable to the general public and business sectors that reliant on large groups without huge adjustments.

There should be a huge federal task force coming up with long-term methods to living with this stuff.

They should be designing both practical techniques to make person to person interaction more safe in more situations.

What the fuck happened to contract tracing? Sure I’ve got it on my phone now but it’s all opt-in so I guarantee you nobody’s using it. Every government that is controlling Covid effectively is using it (and it doesn’t have to be and/or feel authoritarian.

It’s like, the problem with this administration isn’t directly the fact that it’s incompetent and ignorant. It’s the long term effects: it’s the fact that they’ve entirely missed the point deliberately and repeatedly.

It shows in the whole Supreme Court superspread party. The White House thought that if you just fucking tested it would mean you don’t need masks or precautions. Again: missing the point. The rapid in rapid test is referring to how fast you get the results back. It doesn’t mean you’ll get a positive result as soon as you’re contagious.

Their own fucking CDC knew that.
