Maybe your indie startup does stand a chance after all

Owning a business in general is a risky job despite countless success stories. A gaming indie business sounds fun, but coming out with games that appeal to gamers already sounds stressful. Not every gaming idea is going to be a successful idea. I'm not so foolish to think owning a business is going to be easy and be cocky about it. Becoming a game environmental animator/artist is my goal and making Indie games is my dream. Before studying animation, I took 2D and 3D art classes. Drawing people and four legged animals is a big weakness of mine while I am very good at drawing mostly anything that have to do with the environment.

While I would love to own my own Indie business in the far future, I know being a 'stay at home' game designer is a disaster waiting to happen for me. Co-owning a business with a small group is still risky, but it sounds more doable for survival if with a talented team. One of the gaming companies I look up to is Red Barrel. They are a new Indie gaming company that did a wonderful job with their video game debate with Outlast and Outlast WhistleBlower. What they did is not easy.
