Men have unwanted sex with women in order to conform to gender expectations and to avoid uncomfortable interactions finds new research by an NYU sociologist.

I don't want to put words on his mouth, so this is my view on the subject.

Often guys do this "if genders were reversed" observation. Indeed it points out a double standard (in a way). But then answers like yours appear to presume guys somehow want a "girl like treatment" by society.

Here's the truth though, I'm pretty sure I'm not nearly as bothered by a random girl putting her hand on my crotch out of the blue, as a girl would be in the reverse situation. Doesn't mean it wouldn't bother me. But to me it certainly would be worth any drama. If it's just a one off, feel like it is just awkward / cringy. Pretty sure it's the same for most guys.

There's appears to be this forced notion of equality between men and women, where women are the way they are and men supposed to be like them. It's just weird. If you don't get how weird it is, try imagining I guys acting like having your crotch grabbed should be dramatic, because it isn't when it happens to them.
