The Mirror-like Nature of the Mind & Why I've come to the conclusion that Oneirosophy isn't a good strategy

Getting past these things means letting go of the ego. It doesn't mean just telling it how great it is and how all the ways in which you still suffer aren't real because it's a choice and since you're the Prince of Darkness you get to decide what's real. That's not a mature way to relate to life.

What is your ego? Define it and what it means to let go of it.

The ego is all grasping and aversion. Letting go means you just stop doing that. If you're losing at chess, you are just losing at chess. You don't grasping at winning and you're not sad you're losing.

What is doing the letting go or holding on to the ego? You, right?

The ego is the letting go and holding on. It's most gross manifestations tend to involve manifestation of gross thoughts and grasping at images of yourself.

What happens when you hold on or let go? Where does the ego go? What you do differently without it, and why do you do that differently?

When you hold on you experience the reality created by egoic consciousness. When you let go, you experience begins to unfold into the natural state. The mind gets really quiet, clear, and... powerful. The main thing you do differently is you stop creating so much suffering for yourself because you see how you were manufacturing that suffering out of pettiness the whole time.

Why do you need to let go of the ego (whatever that means) to manifest the different, non-egoic intentions? What influence does your ego have on you, in your view?

Being involved in the ego is kind of the most draining thing imaginable. Living in that state takes soo much work. Yet most have been doing it their whole lives and don't know anything else. When you let go, even if just for a moment, boy what a fucking weight off your shoulders it is.
