I’d say it depends on your user experience.

The Vita in secondhand markets can sometimes be scooped up for around $100~ in good condition. To get the most out of it, you’ll need to follow the guide and hack it on any firmware, which can be difficult if you’re a computer noob like I was. Great hardware, nice OLED screen, nice quips and features in the software, but still uses Micro USB/proprietary charger.

I’m not sure about RP3+, but it’s a solid price-to-performance ratio and seems more user friendly from the initial setup. It has better PSP quality than the Vita, and better SNES emulation than the Vita.

I only have a Vita that I still enjoy so I obviously choose this one, lots of JRPG’s/RPG’s I plan to get to on the Vita, but there’s no denying the 3+ is more powerful up to GameCube and some PS2 even.

Don’t think you’ll regret either one.
