YES. I’m reading the comments like… do ya’ll not see the point??

Parents used “discipline” to control their kids out of fear. A LOT of adults now are traumatized and need help because of how they were raised with abuse like this posts suggests. So many of us were “spanked” or worse, so many of us were never taught self-regulation or self-control. There are so many toxic people right now because a lot of us were abused during our chilldhood, because it was “normal”.

A lot of older people will say “that child just needs a spanking” like no? They don’t?? That will literally not teach them anything other than to be scared of us as well as to be obedient or risk getting hit or yelled at again.

It seems like a lot of people now are breaking the generational cycles of abuse and redefining what is normal and what is/isn’t acceptable.
