More and more, Magic starting to remind me of Yu-Gi-Oh! but with its own nega-Konami. [Essay]

Magic and reprints to lower prices has been a thing forever. That isn't the issue. The ISSUE is powercreep, which has been a problem for several years now. Instead of designing well-balanced and interesting sets, WOTC has decided that printing and banning increasingly powerful cards is the way to go.

Catering to EDH players with cheaper reprints isn't dragging any "suckers" back, its keeping a format functional. The reprints are why its the most popular way to play, and why ever other constructed format is dying faster and faster.

That sentence was about Konami and YGO's game state; it's in the Yu-Gi-Oh! section. There is nothing comparable to a YGO collector tin aside from maybe a decent pre-con with a shockland and that's stretching it.
