Moving from Turkey to US

If an American who is not a gang member chooses to dress like one,and doesn't get a job working with victims of crime, who would you blame? Would you be ok with someone with an American with a bunch of Nazi swastica tattoos being in charge of your kids at daycare? Yes, they have the right to display their freedom any way they want. But there is a cost to that.

I would never advise a new immigrant to "stick out." American women don't get the privilege of wearing short skirts in ME countries, American men wearing shirts with the American flag printed on them is not advisable in many countries. Americans are told to curb their "American-ness" behavior even in places like France. There is a cost to Americans who choose to "stick out" elsewhere in the world, even in democratic countries.

You have been here awhile. You have the reassurance of being an LPR or citizen. You can afford the freedom to display yourself in any way you wish. You can get a Nazi tattoo or dress however you wish. You can afford the "cost" of non-conformity. And I'm actually glad you do.

But the OP can't afford it. Not yet. He is coming here on a visa that does not insure his remaining here. Better he plays it safe, like all immigrants are advised to do all over the world.
