No thats not completely true.
first of all OP is wrong, its not one game. Its SL + preseason + last game.
People said that clarkson ran the offense too much? Okay well Dlo had his chance in SL + Preseason and you know what he did in SL? Averaged more TOs then assits.
That isn't hard competition he shouldn't do bad. "summer league shows you who can't play, not who can" because bad players can do well in SL due to competition but so do good players...
There were players who averaged worst efficency drafted as high as him. Durant averaged 33% but he also scored 24+ppg and showed off his handling and a lot of others thing that got him drafted at that spot. Or lebron who shot the same as him but he killed every other category and dropped almos 20ppg still.
Not to mention before he was drafted he was drafted on his shooting and passing ability. From pre-draft workouts to other workout videos to all the games he has been bricking shots for 3 months. His passing even in SL was nothing special considering he averaged more TOs then assits...
Every other lottery pick has show flashes or games of why they were drafted so high. Literally all of them EXCEPT dlo.
Now no one is a "fucking idiot" for using statistics and past drafts to realize there is no FUCKING WAY that 10 of the 10 lottery picks are going to not bust and be stars.
Even Frank Kaminsky has had some really good games in the preseason. Everyone else has shown off the things that they were drafted for. Okafor his post moves, prozingis his athleticism and just talent, Stanley his shot/finishing ability etc. Mudiay has even proven his broken jump shot to be not true.
So judiging off the other lottery picks performances, knowing that there has to be at least 1 bust in the lottery its only seems like it will be Dlo. he has had many oppurtunities he hasnt made any use of. It felt like no one was even guarding rubio is how bad his defense is, hes so slow around the pick and roll and just in general.. his bricks everything. He doesn't play with that intensity that randle or others play with.
Now when people say hes likely a bust i think they mean as the #2 pick. Meaning if there is one or multiple people drafted below him that end up being a lot better then him he is a bust.
I also don't think he'll ever be a top 10 player in the league like people thought he would be one day, or that he will even ever be a top 5 pg.
Now there is nothing wrong with that, I don't think he can completly bust i think he has a good jumper (looks smooth) so if he can stop bricking his shots and gain more tools I think he'll put up better scoring numbers then mike conley, like a wall but with more 3s and shots. And a good amount of assits. But i do think anyone who thinks he can be steph curry is delusional or even close.
As a laker fan i do hope hes the best in the draft, but looking at the facts its very highly unlikely.
