I feel the same way having been raised Catholic. I love the three representations of God in God the Father, God the Son (Jesus), and God the Holy Spirit.

When I see something blasphemous, including one of my favorite t-shirts "Mary was only a Virgin if you don't count anal," I think it's funny because I am laughing at the anger and disgust of the vocally annoying Catholics and Christians. God, in whatever form, is ageless, meaning beyond millions of years old and the thought process of God is beyond any human being's understanding. Mary, as a semi-deity in the Christian religions, has been around a couple thousand years. Like the oldest vampire in any fiction, I doubt her feathers are really going to be ruffled.

The beings I also believe in have a sense of humor, especially because to deal with human suffering means you have to hve a black sense of humor or get really hurt and embittered.

So make your poop and urine crucifixes. It may not be to my taste, but I do enjoy seeing how people respond to it--and isn't that what good art does, even if I personally do not think that a poop or peed upon cross is any great thing of beauty?

Finally, satire is necessary. Pope John Paul the second was venerated, and was likely mostly a good man, but why did pedophilia in the Church only really start to get addressed under Pope Benedict and furthered by Pope Francis? And finally, why is Pope Francis the first pope, in my opinion, who is living humbly by example following the ways of Christ?

Returning to my central point: huge institutions NEED to be lampooned. To be taken too seriously is to increasingly move away from their central duties to the people who they are supposed to serve. To not question is to ensure too much power and too much silence on the part of potential and actual victims of that power.

And for that reason, I will say this: Mohammed AND Jesus (and even Buddha, even though most Buddhists I've met are really chill people) can go suck off manky homeless dick to help ease the sexual suffering of outcast, herpetic, smelly old cocks (and let's throw in a few fishy cunts too while we are at it.)

I can still say all that and venerate my personal deity. However, God has a sense of humor and I think He/She/It will roll with it and dish it right back out.
