My (44M) son (17M) punched my wife (42F) and I'm now divorcing her

Move your family into a safe location, splurge on a comfort dinner, and tell your kids you love them and that they're safe now. Tell them that they never have to see their mom again and that you will never hit them. If you cry in front of them, that's okay. Sometimes kids just need to see their dads cry, just be sure to tell them that you're not crying because of something THEY did.

Get therapy for the whole family as well as individual sessions. Call your parents, siblings, and close friends and ask if they will help you in this transition. You probably have many people who would be happy to give a helping hand. You don't have to be alone in this!
