My best friend's [27M] girlfriend [28F] just broke up with him out of nowhere after seven years, on the one-year anniversary of their first home. She was like a sister, and I don't know what to do. (Warning: Long Story)

I didn't realize I was coming off that way, but I really don't. I genuinely liked her a lot and don't hold vitriol for her. I'm angry and upset for him because it seems like infidelity occurred, but if it's a genuine change in personality, then kudos to her for ending it now and not stringing him along.

We were like family members, and I say "like" only because we lack a direct blood connection. After he left my house last night and told the rest of his family, his brother called my and asked to come over to talk as well, and he stayed until 2am talking about everything.

Obviously, without giving out a lot of details, his family is basically my family. Due to life circumstances in my childhood, his mom helped raise me when mine could not. We are close to the point where we might as well be siblings, and that's why he came to me before anybody else in his family even knew what had happened. I've not said a word to her, and I've only offered advice to him when he asked for it.

If venting online and asking for advice is being way too involved, then I suppose I'm guilty as charged.
