*I believe one of the reasons is the fear of losing his assets if you guys divorce.

*The other is losing costudy of his children if (again) you guys divorce.

*And as he said there's expenses to get divorced.

*And more expenses if guys wanna throw a weddimg party

My advice? Marriage is just a ceremony. What really matters is yo guys love for each other. I remember reading the divorce rates in US had a crazy 20-30% range. Thats a lot of unhappy people. Tho about children, i would suggest trying to convince him little by little, piece by piece. Ya dont need a single huge argument to persuade him. Sometimes, babysteps are the best approach.(pun partially intended)
