When I first met him in college he was chubby, sloppy and had very low self-esteem. As friends I never found him sexually attractive, and that made for a great uncomplicated friendship. After college he got a job in a different state, so our interactions were limited to sporadic phone calls and texts. Well last week he came back to spend some time with his family, and he suggested we hang out. When I saw him walk into the restaurant, I didn’t recognize him at all until he came to my table. He looked healthier, muscular, and even dresses like he puts some thought into it.

We are trying to spend a lot of time together before he goes back to work which is in about a couple weeks. I actually feel nervous and intimidated around him, which is unsettling. I know he’s not seeing anyone, but I’m afraid to ask him out. I feel like he’ll think I’m shallow for only showing interest when he got hot. Back in college he asked me out but I said no, because I wasn’t attracted to him sexually.

How would you guys feel if someone suddenly shows interest in you after you got hot? Would you take offence or would you understand?
