My girlfriend [23 F] has a very flexible work schedule, and I [28 M] have a more demanding job. We had a huge argument when she called me flaky, and I called her immature.

I myself am on a 9-80. My company offers that, traditional hours, 4-10s, 3-12's, etc (typically department specific, but some flexibility within departments).

The 9-80 schedule actually saves companies a lot of money in some engineering industries if it's standard across the board. (A cousin of mine worked at a plant that was able to fully shut down and avoid 10% of operational costs due to 9-80s).

Regardless, it's really fucking common for engineering companies to offer alternative scheduling. A 9-80 alone doesn't make her the slightest bit "spoiled." It's so ridiculous to me to hear it called that. OPs girlfriend still has a full 40-hour work week (well, 36/44 alternating).

It's not like she gets her off-Fridays for funzies. She's earned that time by working extra throughout the week.
