a) I’ve gotten way more than $60 worth of joy from animal crossing. I’d happily give them more money for some extra cosmetics. I’d even more happily give them more money for functional DLC, like new NPC characters

b) who the hell cares about cosmetic only DLC? it’s almost entirely for the reasons explained above ... to show support. The whole “vote with your wallet” idea but literally

c) imagine gatekeeping and shaming others for how they choose to spend their disposable income lol

Not that any of this matters. Nintendo rarely has paid DLC for stuff like this - their paid DLC is usually for massive content drops. I doubt a game like Animal Crossing would introduce paid DLC unless they added entirely new islands/features
