My husband loves his niece dearly. I love this about him. However, when I saw him playing with his niece (and nephew and his sister, the mom) in the pool, throwing her around, playing, and giving hugs and kisses it made me feel like he was doing something very inappropriate. I got very upset and walked away from the pool. It took me a few weeks of thinking about that incident to kind of unearth the memory of my babysitters husband touching me inappropriately in their pool when I was young. I told my husband everything, I told him that he’s doing nothing wrong but it triggers me big-time. So yeah, that could be the case with the girlfriend too - we just don’t know.
