Woah woah woah.. You are telling us that your mom is putting in effort, misguided or not, and your response to her trying to interact with and understand you is to have a tantrum?

She is ACTUALLY TRYING, and this is what you do? Seriously?

Sounds like you have a lot of reflecting to do. You may be frustrated with the situation, but she is obviously trying and you should, too. A lot of people aren’t that lucky with their family and you are taking it for granted.

Maybe she wanted to bring you to a LGBTQI+ event and share that with you. Maybe she is trying to understand the community more and learn from you. It just looks like you are shitting all over good intentions and acting like a brat.

Appreciate your mom for trying, then coax her in the right direction for you. Everyone is different. This is your chance to educate your audience. Don’t blame them for not knowing much about something that is foreign to them. Help them learn. Teach them. Communicate. Grow.
