Or maybe, just because we don't have rock-solid empirical evidence yet doesn't mean we can't use common sense and think that staring at a fixed-focus distance for long periods of time might have some effects on developing brains and how they process depth perception.

What we DO know is that people blind from birth who get their vision back later in life have severe processing disabilities. Developing brains depend on practice to fully develop their capabilities.

Unfortunately that has mislead a lot of people to think their kids eyes are going to explode if they put it on.

I'm not saying I know the answer. I'm only saying that you definitely don't, either (and neither does the idiot who made the video), and confidently pushing knowledge you don't have is foolish.
