My stereotypical thoughts about the USA - are they true?

1.So many americans are armed at any point of time, that it is just a matter of someone having a bad day until shots are fired.

Not true. I know many people without guns. I've personally never seen a gun in my life with the exception of cops or military having them (military in other countries only)

2.In major cities (mainly NY, Chicago, LA, Seattle etc) it is unsafe to walk alone at night, even in mid class areas

Not necessarily true, just know where you are going and be watchful as you would in ANY city. I've walked around Chicago a lot at night, it's a beautiful city and keep in mind some of these big cities are very active at night as well, so you'd have to be in a pretty desolate area in an alley at night to encounter something bad.

3.Americans love western EU, but have negative view od the rest of Europe. >>> Debatable. Many Americans tend to go to Western Europe but everyone is different. I don't think a negative view is accurate, but maybe a lack of knowledge if you're not a well traveled person.

4.They consider non-american automobile makers generally inferior.>>> Absolutely false. Many people here make it a point to NOT buy American cars. I would never buy a Chevy,Ford, etc. Everyone is different, but there is definitely no one consensus other than most Japanese brands are very reliable.

5.They are actually afraid of flying Airbus. (Based on youtube comments)>>> This is just a small percentage of people. Most people don't even know the difference.

6.They fail to see/acknowledge foreign contributions/legacies to their industries and sciences.>> Americans are guilty of not caring/knowing a lot about foreign contributions, for no other reason than it's simply not covered unless you're researching.

7.Jobs are easy to find for qualified and highly educated people.>>> Depends on the career.

8.They fail to recognize the exceptional natural beauty and diversity of their own country.

It depends on the type of person. Some people like traveling elsewhere and don't really see the US for what it is. It's a massive country and people have limited time off. Many prefer to see something they perceive as totally different than stay here. People definitely recognize the natural beauty and history here, though.

9.They believe that life is better in Europe.

Depends on who you ask. Many people romanticize the idea of living anywhere but here. I think a lot of people are guilty of this no matter where they are from.

10.Weed is extrely popular and overhyped.

I don't know about extremely popular, but it's definitely overhyped and popular. It's something that is illegal but easily attainable so people tend to seek it out.

11.While the main political campaigns and scandals are a melodramatic chaos, the US government actually gets shit done and is competent.

yes and no. That's another discussion altogether.
