As per tradition, redditors have not read the (very short) article. The teen did not intentionally assault the old man. He (teen) tried to take his (old man) hat, old man tried to stop him and the landed on the ground.

Was the teen in the wrong? I'd say yes, but he was doing teenage shenanigans and an elderly person got a little scuffed up. Its not like he drop-kicked him from behind or punched him. Prank gone wrong is all the story is about. Stealing an old fart's hat is not going to change anything in the country and its not going to change anyone's mind either.
