Netflix is removing text from movies

Exactly this. A textless version is much more important in TV and docs, whereas most films like horrible bosses don’t have much if any on screen text.

I’m guessing the missing titles are an oversight.

It creates a funny problem though. Because now they have missing titles in this film, that are created with a specific font type and placement. Maybe even animation bringing them in and out (I can’t recall the film).

Netflix would either need the font pack, or request the studio delivery patches for each title, in each language. Either Netflix would fix at their end or they would request an entire redelivery from the studio. Either way this is definitely a headache and a guarantee you there is an email chain out there debating how important this is. If anyone caught it except the viewers, that is.
