new doordash cash on delivery

I'm sure the way it works is the customer pays 100% of the delivery fee, then doordash takes their cut of the delivery fee out of your account. You keep the difference which is the base pay and the tip.

You should absolutely opt out of this, for numerous reasons.

For one, lots of people simply won't come to the door and give you the money. Anyone who does "Hand Them To Me" orders knows how many people simply don't answer the door. Now it will be even worse because you are waiting on them for cash. No thanks!

For another, it will probably mean 100% of these orders effectively have hidden tips. You can't know at acceptance time whether the order contains a tip or not because the tip will be in cash. So you have no idea what the order is worth.

This is a horrible system. Nobody should do it.
