I made another comment and deleted because frankly it was entirely written in anger and unproductive.

All I will say is that I am numb to this exact sentiment now. I keep hearing over and over from self professed "reasonable" Christians who supposedly don't agree with what is being done in their religions name, and yet the people doing it still get elected. They're support never seems to dwindle and no one from their own religion ever seems to do anything about them in a way that actually helps. And I still have the memories from growing up in that environment and hearing the things so called "loving" Christians would say.

I'm sure you're telling the truth and are a very nice person, but at this point it does not bring me any comfort.
