The new rules being enforced at my son’s middle school.

I'm saying I have to buy double. If they grow out of one wardrobe, they grow out of the other. And not that this should matter, but some brands don't fit all kids. I have two teenage boys who do not fit in walmart khakis. I spent 2 weeks taking them places to try on khakis to find some that would fit correctly. American Eagle khakis are durable and correctly fit my kids, they each get two pair. Polos? Good luck finding the colors you need! Maroon, black or grey. No pockets, no labels. Ordered some online, had to send them all back, none fit correctly either being too short in the waist/sleeves were too tight/colors werent as advertised. Went to every store in a 15 mile radius, managed to find 4 polos for one kid, 3 for the other. Couldn't tell you how much those were a piece but since they had to end up getting adult sizes, they weren't kid prices. Undershirts are destroyed easily and constantly have to be replaced, those cheap packs at walmart still aren't that cheap. Uniforms are washed nightly which causes wear and tear. Khakis being the wear and tear exception, as long as they fit in length and waist, they'll last forever.

They're not staying in their uniforms all day, they're uncomfortable and are not worn to after-school commitments, weekend engagements, holidays or vacations. These clothes also experience wear and tear and sometimes need to be replaced. My kids certainly don't sleep in khakis. They don't fit in kids sized pants so you have to pay adult prices. For everything. Twice.

You do understand all of that still costs money per kid right? Don't forget the cold weather gear! School allowed colors only, no labels, must fit properly.

Never once said that I prefer buying "more expensive and more clothes", I'm saying that not everyone can pop in walmart for all their kids' needs. Their socks, underwear, undershirts, non school clothes for the most part come from walmart/target/etc.

It would be cheaper to not have to buy special clothes just for my kids to sit at school 5 days a week. The math adds up because I wouldn't be spending extra money on special clothes. They'd just have their every day clothes, which I'm already buying.

I don't know how much clearer I can make myself.
