Those are good lessons to teach.

I got to teach a similar one. I was a heavy kid for most of my youth, after an unpleasant reaction to ritalin. I also had a bad case of being a smartass and not backing down when threatened.

I was also constantly going camping, swimming, kayaking, canoeing, etc. So while i looked like an easy target, any attempt to bully me quickly ended badly for the other kid. It's amazing how few people realize that it's possible to both carry extra weight, and be strong.

Fortunately, 1 fight per school was usually enough for people to leave me and my friends alone.

I never started a fight. But if I was in school today, I'd likely have been expelled multiple times.
