Nintendo always ports games to newer systems. They didn’t give me anything because I had SMB 1-3 on my NES and put them on the SNES with new graphics, then ported those games to the GBA with even more features. I know it’s not exactly the same, since it’s not every single major NES game ported to newer systems, though with virtual console, I really have no reason to dig out those systems.

I do understand where you’re coming from in your post, I own every game on my Wii U that they’ve already ported over to Switch. Obviously, from a business perspective it makes sense, sales were lower on these great games because the Wii U. From my perspective, I just see it as more people can enjoy these games now, there’s more people in the community we can talk to about them. If I want to play them again, my Wii U is still connected right next to my Switch, I’m missing out on a few features, but I also had the game years earlier than everyone else.
