I just loved thinking about how great of a swordsman Jaime was and how wasted it was on such a pompous douche.

Battle of the Whispering Wood really shows just how insanely good he is: When Jaime sees the battle is lost, he rallies his retainers and attempts to cut his way through the host to slay Robb in single combat. He is halted, but not before slaying Daryn Hornwood, Eddard Karstark and Torrhen Karstark of Robb's personal guard.

So when Jaime realises he has no chance of his men prevailing he literally rallys some guys to himself and christ knows how many regular troops he fucked up before getting close enough to Robb to take out three of his personal guard who are really good in their own rights. Damn.
