No more masks for vaccinated folks!

I mean, I think you're splitting hairs at this point. I already mentioned that I was talking about statistics after a breakthrough case has occurred. If we take the efficacy of the Moderna/Pfizer vaccines at around ~95%, and then take the risk of severe illness in a breakthrough case after the fact...then it's a percentage of a percentage. All I was saying is that, based on what data we have, the risk of hospitalization after you have had a breakthrough case, there is still a risk of hospitalization or death. And that risk, again, when discussing breakthrough cases has shown to be about 10%, at least from what the CDC has reported. So, if you are part of the unlucky 5% who do catch COVID while fully vaccinated, about 10% of those people (that we know of) will be hospitalized.

Again, I was never arguing that the chance of hospitalization was reduced, or that the chance of severe illness was reduced. I was simply arguing that COVID does not become harmless if you do happen to become infected post-vaccination. There is still a risk of becoming symptomatic and, in a worst case scenario, being hospitalized.

At any rate, I'm bowing out of this argument, because it's not really going anywhere. Believe what you like about breakthrough cases.
