are you the out of state person? where are you from?

if “fun” for you is a school in a city don’t go to UCI, same with if you want a traditional college community or college town feel where there are college bars and a student neighborhood and school spirit on game days and stuff like that. that doesn’t exist in Irvine, it’s very suburban and planned and tightly controlled. Personally I think it can be a bit isolating here if you’re not from Southern California or at least from California, going from living in an east coast city and a city in the great lakes area to Irvine gave me some culture shock (mostly I miss walking!) But there is fun stuff to do and plus it’s college, almost any large school is going to have fun social shit to do just because there are so many young people being social in the same place.
