I just got admitted for CS! can you guys answer some questions?

  1. How hard are the classes?

For the most part, it's definitely doable as long as you spread out your classes when you're taking the harder CS classes. You will do well if you attend lectures, read the notes, etc... Funny thing is that some lower-division classes will be harder and require more time than a lot of upper-division classes.

How are the internship opportunities?

There a lot of internship opportunities out there if you try hard and actually really apply to companies (e.g - applying to 250+). Landing internships requires both technical skills and soft skills. UCI provides a lot of resources and opportunities for internships, so you'll find internships as long as you take advantage of this. More or less have gotten all my internships through UC Irvine and will be starting my third one this summer in Seattle!

Can I graduate in 4 years or less?

It's possible to graduate in three years, but college is fun and I would recommend staying four years if money isn't a problem.

How's the food?

Okay.

Is it really a commuter school?

Sort of! There are still A LOT of people who live on-campus or nearby.

How are the parties?

For the most part, they're cramped inside small apartments, but still fun! As long as you join the right clubs or organizations, you'll have a good time.

How are the research opportunities?

Good amount! Reach out to professors in your classes.

How is the neighborhood? I heard there's a target opening up.

Definition of suburbia.

How's your day?

Good.
