Is it normal for managers to yell at you and threaten to fire you all the time?

Congrats on getting out of there! Hope wherever you're at now is better. Must have felt good the day you left, yeah?

Personally, maybe they're just more memorial but, I seem to run into the type of manager that likes to yell at you and belittle you a lot more than the other. (I just saw a thread about abusive managers like that today too..) There are the good ones out there, but there seems to quite a bit of the bad ones in retail. I think its because retail = minimum wage = minimum value employee. You're disposal to them.

Sorry but, I like the part where you ask your general manager about what your manager is doing, they say you're fine, but then get on your butt about other stuff.

I used to work with a lot of people like that, all my managers were, so I switched shifts. Guess what? A few months, all those people came to my shift. Nice.

(There are some nice managers, but I think the bad ones are just too exhausting for even them to deal with.)

Is it the weather or the food that makes people like that..? /jk
