I work night shift in a youth prison

ooo this is a great question.

when i was on day shift i had a kid in my unit who was genuinely just a pleasure to have around. never argued, supremely well behaved, never caused any codes and was generally just a very charismatic and good kid. He had a great sense of humour and had background in gymnastics. kid would just randomly stand up and pull out a backflip for no reason other than to entertain and impress. him and i were into the same music and i fast became a big brother type figure in my time in that unit with him. he is now in adult corrections where he will spend the next 20 years due to the severity of the crime he commited and it still upsets me that i am unable to contact him to see how he is going or to just talk to him again in general.
