Oh I agree. When I was 18 I got a ticket in front of my own house. No shit. Gave me a ticket for not wearing a seat-belt because my father told me to move his car from the driveway to the road so we could work on mine. Didn't even move the car 10 feet. I explained to the cop the situation and showed him the address on my license. He gave zero fucks.

I'm not really sure what happened that night with the ticket. I'm a very friendly unassuming guy, so that may have helped. I did stand up for a stint.

I've got other stories of getting off in the same county too, including an officer yelling at my girlfriend and I "I know you have weed I can smell it" and then proceeded to drop the whole thing despite the weed in her purse. So I'm not really sure. Could just be the police officer you are lucky/unlucky enough to get. I just doubt that the officer would have dropped it in this purse situation if I were black. Same thing with the speeding ticket. But yeah, I was lucky as hell that night. Race notwithstanding.
