(NY) Took someone else's credit card to show to a club so I could book a room. The club found out it wasn't mine.

Okay, listen, you need to accept you fucked up and start thinking clearly or else your going to end up in jail.

So you haven't been charged with anything yet? Please tell me you didn't admit to anything over the phone to the police...? Do not tell the police anything. Do not admit anything to anyone, not to your neighbor, not to the club, not to the police. Talk to your lawyer about the interview actually being mandatory because that doesn't sound right. If you end up going to it, dont say anything. don't lie to them or try to justify it- just don't say anything. You have absolutely nothing to gain from confessing to the police, and everything to lose. Don't think you can justify it, you cant make it look like a little innocent small deal like how your trying to portray it in your original post. They don't care about how you supposedly didn't spend any money or whatever, you still technically broke the law.

If they had enough evidence, you'd most likely be in cuffs because what you did is fucking serious. It sounds like they need your confession. They'll say "either tell us what happened or we're going to arrest you on the spot. If you don't tell us, your going to jail right now, but if you tell us, you'll be free to go) They're going to threaten you, saying that they'll take it easy on you if you tell them everything, but it's a lie. They are allowed to lie. You'll go to jail either way, just know that your bail likely wont be to big so you probably wont even leave holding before getting bailed out. But if you admit to what you did, the charges are going to stick down the road. If you don't, any they don't have any other serious evidence besides an other person's word, the case will either be dropped or you'll be in a lot better of a position when it comes to the plea deal. Just, FFS, do not admit anything, no matter what the threaten you with.
